Ocean BenchMiami Beach, Florida, in its heyday—earlier heyday, not now—was a hotbed of Art Deco and Moderne design, with hotels such as the Fontainebleau, Sans Souci and Eden Roc drawing savvy travelers from northerly climes. The architect behind much of that cool beach style was Morris Lapidus, who also designed streamlined, curving furnishings for his hotel projects. Some of those pieces are now available from Dennis Miller Associates, which launched the Morris Lapidus collection earlier this year. The collection consists of five pieces: the curving Ocean bench (shown here), the slick Island sofa, the laid-back Lincoln chair, the coolly elegant Collins chair and the demure Alton chair. Available through Antoine Proulx, Phoenix, AZ; (602) 952-1580, www.antoineproulx.com or www.dennismiller.com.

Larson-Juhl Concerto LineLarson-Juhl has introduced the Concerto line of fine finished corner frames inspired by historic art, design and geography. Carved, gilded, burnished or patinaed, the styles were pulled from archived patterns at the framing firm's atelier in France. The Spanish collection of frames, for example, draws references from the paintings of Goya and Velázquez, while the American collection echoes the work of the Hudson River School of painters. The Contemporary frames make a nod to Bauhaus, the French to the ornamental embellishments of the courts of Louis XV and Louis XVI. Available through Horizon Art, Scottsdale, AZ; (480) 949-1990 or www.horizonart.com.

New Bungalow KitchenNo matter how Modernist one may profess to be, we've all probably had a bungalow fantasy or two in our design lives. You know, a fleeting wish to be enveloped by crown moulding, beadboard and casement windows. The New Bungalow Kitchen (The Taunton Press, 2007) allows you to pore over the bungalow's heart and soul, with tours of bungalow-style kitchens from around the country. Author Peter LaBau and photographer Macro Prozzo detail everything from before-and-after renovations to breather boxes, old-fashioned cabinets mounted on an exterior wall where a milkman could deliver wares on the outside and the homeowner could retrieve things inside. www.taunton.com.

Fuego grillBarbecue grills are strictly utilitarian, clunky things that live on the edge of a patio, deck or pool area, right? Not necessarily. Enter the Fuego grill, a sleekly designed sculpture that happens to grill food outdoors. Designed by Robert Brunner, former director of industrial design for Apple Computer, the grill, which can be customized to cook with gas, propane, charcoal or even infrared burners, is clad in stainless steel and comes with teak or slate counters. The award-winning design includes a retractable lid, storage space, electronic controls and wheels so that it can be wheeled for convenience. www.fuegoliving.com.

JSI Connect LoungeJSI's new Connect Lounge, a commercial furniture line designed with interlocking seating and tables, is designed for how we live and work now. No, really. The line is geared for the laptop-, cell phone- and double-mocha-latte-users that we have all become, with an optional power center in arm rests that offers two electrical outlets and two data plugs for connecting to the Internet. There's also an optional arm-mounted drink holder and an optional tablet arm that pivots 360 degrees and is sized just right for laptops. The lounge components include end tables, seating units, center consoles and ottomans, and come in a variety of woods and fabrics. Use it for libraries, college settings, airports, hotel lobbies or anywhere else people stop to work. www.jsifurniture.com.
