Martha Stewart Furniture

Martha Stewart knows how to furnish the proper home. The doyenne of domesticity does it best through her Martha Stewart Furniture for Bernhardt, with five collections inspired by her various residences as well as her favorite landscapes, plus a line of upholstered pieces done in traditional motifs. Ranging from a modernist bar cabinet to the cozy, button-tufted chair shown here, the collections work in urban as well as more rustic settings. Available beginning in October through Columbine Showroom, Denver, CO; (303) 722-4400.

Hartmann & Forbes has launched the new ErtheWeave Collection, the company's first line of textile window coverings. The textiles, which include cottons, wools, linens, silks and woven bamboo, can be fabricated into roman shades, draperies, cornice and valance treatments, and stacking "Panel-Screens" for use across large expanses of glass. The window coverings are finished with pillowcased lining, hand-wrapped head rails, hand-braided pull cords and more. Motorization is also available. Available through Alexander Sinclair, Scottsdale, AZ, (480) 423-8000; Carter Didlake, Denver, CO, (303) 794-4722; and The Gerrity Group, Las Vegas, NV, (702) 255-8267.

Sourcebook of Decorative Stone

Don't know your alabasters from your travertines? Think ophicalcite is something you take to soothe an upset stomach? You might need to add The Sourcebook of Decorative Stone by Monica T. Price (2007, Firefly Books Ltd.) to your reference library. The illustrated identification guide not only gives you a mini geology lesson, but it also helps you understand the properties—and history—of that granite you're specifying for a client's kitchen. www.fireflybooks.com.
