Antoine Proulx.

Designer Marc Desplaines, founder of Phoenix-based Antoine Proulx, has created a new collection of office furniture, Infinite Office. The line, inspired by the bold and chunky hardware found on fashionable women's purses, features 34 pieces, including desks, file pedestals, bookcases, a conference table, file credenzas and storage units that can be arranged in a modular manner. Finishes include walnut sand, American black walnut and bleached ash, with bronze or titanium steel hardware. 3320 N. 44th St., Phoenix, AZ 85018; (602) 952-1580 or www.antoineproulx.com.

Roche-Bobois.

Roche-Bobois' first outdoor collection, Bel Air, was designed by Sacha Lakic with a slim, modern profile in mind. Made of woven polyethylene resin in a leather style over aluminum tube framing, the collection includes a dining table and chairs, shown here, plus a modular sofa, cocktail table, chairs and a loveseat. Color choices are dark brown, elephant grey and seafoam white. 15530 N. Greenway-Hayden Loop, Scottsdale, AZ 85260, (480) 443-0430; 8330 S. Colorado Blvd., Littleton, CO 80126, (303) 721-1616; or www.rochebobois.com.

Artificial Rocks Factory.

There comes a time in most retail designers' professional lives when they need a rock. Not just any rock, but a good faux rock to highlight a rugged or outdoorsy display. Artificial Rocks Factory creates a collection of realistic-looking rocks, boulders and even tree stumps. Made of construction-grade cast stone, the rocks and stumps can withstand the rigors of retail traffic, but are hollow and lightweight enough to be shipped via FedEx or other ground delivery service. www.artificialrocksfactory.com.

J&J Commercial.

J&J Commercial has introduced Fair & Square, a modular commercial carpet that plays with the proportions of color in the yarn, providing a blend of complementing lights and darks. Made with Encore SD Ultima yarn, the carpet features a textured, patterned loop and is available on Nexus modular backing. www.jj-invision.com.

The Collection.

When in Denver, stop by The Collection in the city's design district to snap up unusual accessories, antiques or out-of-the-box crafts. The 15,000-square-foot showroom is a collection of more than 100 vendors offering everything from estate jewelry and artwork to armoires and sofas. A recent find? This hand-carved chair with a woven seat from Afghanistan. 899 N. Broadway , Denver, CO 80203; (303) 623-4200 or www.antiquedesign.com.

Poggenpohl.

Poggenpohl's "dining desk" addresses today's lifestyle, in which ye olde dining table more often serves as a place to use a laptop, do homework or hold meetings rather than to gather around for a family meal. The table opens to reveal a center trough that can be inserted with places to store silverware or cutting boards, with stainless-steel trolleys holding ice or a grill that can be rolled into the ends. It's available in a marsh oak finish or in a sumptuous marble version. Available through Atelier, 4242 N. Craftsman Court, Scottsdale, AZ 85251, (480) 424-7900; Poggenpohl Los Angeles, 8687 Melrose Ave., Suite B-188, Los Angeles, CA 90069, (310) 289-4901; Studio 2B, 2501 Blake St., Denver, CO 80205, (303) 298-0900; Poggenpohl Las Vegas, 3375 W. Oquendo Road, Las Vegas, NV 89119, (702) 736-5031; or www.poggenpohl-usa.com.
