Allen+Philp Architects/Interiors of Scottsdale, Arizona has received a Benjamin Moore Hue Award in the category of contract exteriors for a five-year portfolio of work that exemplifies “a passion for color usage.” The firm was one of only six honorees, chosen from more than 150 entries nationwide. To receive the award, the firm, founded in 1976, submitted projects such as the Salobre Golf Resort in Spain (pictured here), Hotel Valley Ho and Trader Vic’s Restaurant in Scottsdale, and InterContinental Montelucia Resort in Paradise Valley, Arizona. The paint company enlisted an awards panel of jurors that included Cranbrook director Reed Kroloff, Los Angeles Times Magazine design and culture editor Mayer Rus and architect Thomas R. Krizmanic, AIA, LEED AP, principal of Studios Architecture.
