We Are Looking for Advertising Sales Pros!

Sources+Design Magazine is seeking highly motivated, energetic, results-driven outside Advertising Sales Reps. This is a wonderful opportunity for the right person to work flexible hours from their home office while potentially earning a substantial income. The Advertising Sales Rep will work as an Independent Contractor. Territories available are Arizona, Colorado, Nevada (Las Vegas), and Southern California.

The Advertising Sales Reps will:

  • Generate and aggressively follow up on advertising leads to build new business.
  • Service accounts by phone or by scheduling regular appointments with current and potential clients.
  • Partner with clients in helping them develop ad campaigns that achieve results.
  • Close new client contracts and renew existing contracts.
  • Adhere to publication schedules and ad copy deadlines.
  • Work with magazine's design staff on client requests for design and placement.
  • Communicate regularly with Publisher regarding questions, problems, and progress.
  • Submit a regular accounting of ad sales status, including call reports, work plans, and market behavior.
  • Identify and attend trade events as requested.

The Advertising Sales Reps must also possess the ability to:

  • Develop and foster strong customer relationships, partnering with clients to offer them advertising solutions aimed at delivering results.
  • Propose sound advertising solutions based on clients' business plans, needs, and budgets in a tight economy.
  • Demonstrate good business judgment, thorough follow-up, and creativity; function with honesty and integrity.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, analytical, and organizational skills; exhibit superior client service skills.
  • Exhibit the personal initiative and enthusiasm to consistently meet and exceed sales goals in a highly competitive sales environment.
  • Have excellent computer skills and be proficient with Microsoft Office tools (in particular MS Word and Excel), Adobe Acrobat (PDF), email, and FTP.

The ideal candidates will have an outgoing personality, motivation for sales, good prospecting skills, closing expertise, and experience with or exposure to the interior design, architecture, custom building, building materials, or high-end furnishings industries, in a sales, marketing, or other capacity. The position pays a generous commission on sales as well as on contract renewals, with bonus potential.
